Discussion: Corruption posted in Archives

Corruption is spreading~

We're a town that has recently opened up to new residents ^^ Situated on a small mushroom island, Corruption has been developed into a mall that is accessible to everybody, as well as some living quarters for residents to build their own apartments.

Mall

With the iconomy and ChestShop plugins, there's a developing economy on the server. However, there hasn't yet been much of a "store" to buy and sell things outside of the admin shops and a few player shops scattered all over the world. The Corruption mall, however, buys and sells nearly everything. We have shops for blocks, ores, tools, mob loot, enchanted gear, and so on. The prices are a little haphazard at the moment, but we hope to figure them out eventually.

How to get to Corruption

If you want to come to Corruption to become a resident, or just to buy/sell at the mall, the Nether is the best way to travel. Most Nether portals around map spawn all come out in relatively the same location around a Nether fortress. And through that fortress runs a minecart track. Just bring a minecart, ride it on that track, and it'll bring you right to the track that leads to Corruption. You'll know when you reach the Corruption track; we put great care to ensure it's a relatively safe and scenic ride. Plus the sign that says "To Corruption" identifies it pretty well. Once you reach our Nether portal, from there just follow the sign instructions! ^^

Leaders of Corruption

I, Xadera, am the Mayor of Corruption ^^ That doesn't really mean much, I was just made mayor because I had the money to found the town at the time :P Joker741 and Ragdoll271 are "assistants" who basically have all the commands the mayor does, except the "destroy Corruption" one. We are the founders and developers of Corruption. We may also promote others to assistants if deemed a good idea as well ^^

Town Rules

We mostly just have 2 rules for Corruption. One is pretty obvious: don't steal/break the stuff of other residents. The other rule is: no building or breaking anything on the mushroom island unless given permission. The island isn't big and we've been developing portions of it from one end to the other, so we'd like to continue developing it. If you think you could help in the development, just ask and we'll probably give permission ^^

Why be a resident?

So if you can't build on mushroom island, why would you want to be a resident?

  1. No taxes. With just a couple sales in the mall, we have enough money to maintain the daily upkeep for the town, so there's no need to tax our residents.

  2. An apartment within the mall. We have outlined places for apartments with End Blocks within the mall, and doors to signify an available apartment. From there you can build/destroy 7 blocks above and below the door (16 block high total), and many blocks deep (within reason, around 50 or so), with the width bounded by the End Blocks. Build your home however you like with the convenience of being so close to the mall with the protection of a town AND a mushroom island ^^ (nothing can spawn on mushroom island)

  3. A stall within the resident marketplace. Want to make your own shop? We have a designated area within the mall for residents to set up their own little booths ^^ Modify your booth however you like and buy/sell however you like, even if that means undercutting our mall.

  4. A 4-chunk town-protected outpost anywhere in the world for $500. What does this mean? If you are a part of Corruption, we can create a town outpost anywhere in the world for $500. The area is considered a part of Corruption, even if it's way out in the middle of nowhere, and will be bought by you so the plot permissions can be set by you, with everything inside protected however you like. A chunk is a 16x16 block (from bedrock to sky) pre-defined section of the map and you get 4 of them. The chunks must all be connected unless you want to pay an additional $500 for each that isn't connected.

And then?

I hope that covers most of what you'd need to know about Corruption ^^ If you're curious as to why it's called "Corruption", the name is a Terraria reference (Terraria is fun and is worth checking out). We try to be nice friendly people for the most part, so don't be afraid if we try to take over the world =D

If you have any questions/suggestions/comments, feel free to post them or ask us while online ^^
